By default, your Windows XP operating system files and hidden from us considered more sensitive folders, whether the location you have, by their extension or simply on the grounds that the user does not need to be seen. Some of these hidden files are really useful and should inform us well before you remove or modify them.
Well, to get the system to show us both the extensions as hidden files open "My Computer" and "Tools" menu click on "Folder Options ..." as we see in the image below
in the window that appears, click on the View tab and within the same mark "Show hidden files and folders" as in the image below
now in this same window go down to the end and make sure we have unchecked the option "Hide file extensions for known file types" as See you at the next

with this we would have configured the system to show us the hidden files and file extensions, click "OK" and ready.
